the tale of thanks
tis that time of the year.
and since it's the season for giving and sharing
i've decided to share a lil' tale of love and thanks
so that you readers out there can practice a lil christmas spirit
and pass it down for generations to come.
~ a christmas fable ~
there once was two.
two who lived happily in their own worlds.
carefree, living intertwined lives.
albeit one was oft grumpy.
and oft was a lot.
Grumpy naturally blamed her lack of youthfulness and the loss of the spring in her step
on having to slog day in and day out
enduring endless toils
of which Not-Grumpy thought to be the result of an overly imaginative mind
(as Grumpy oft overplayed her physical afflictions).
one day Grumpy asked Not-Grumpy to do her a wee tiny favour,
and Not-Grumpy agreed, as it's all in the spirit of giving.
Grumpy said: Eh, today if you free can you wash my car please
to which Not-Grumpy replied: But i've never washed a car before
of course this did not sit too well with Grumpy, so Grumpy decided to make the task easier
Grumpy: Don't worry, you can just spray spray the car with water.
Not-Grumpy thought gosh ok, i could do that
and said: Oh, okok I'll do it later.
thinking it'd be the end of the subject, Not-Grumpy proceeded to start another,
only to be interjected by Grumpy's : Oh if can, also put some sabun..
and wipe it. You can ask **** for it.
of course Not-Grumpy being the good-natured person that she is,
did as she was asked
and upon seeing Grumpy again,
Not-Grumpy: Hey guess what! I washed your car!
Grumpy: Oh... .... got scrub the tires or not?
Not-Grumpy perplexed, said: No.. you didn't tell me to.
only to get a 'WHY DIDN'T YOU SCRUB THE TIRES?' bellowed rather loudly to Not-Grumpy's ear.
**
and that my folks, is the end of the tale.
so listen and learn.
for this is one lesson that no one else will ever teach you.
when someone does something for you, don't bother with thanks.
the season of christmas holds a presumption of automatic thanks, for whatever good deed is done.
feel free to walk off, change the topic, or ignore the other completely,
as you can be safely assured
that just for this season of love and thanks,
the kind person will be thanked,
without you having to say it.
:D
